Do you feel tired, sluggish, fat? Are your clothes getting tighter by the day?
When was the last time you worked out?
It is the middle of August and most people think because they may be outside more (some more active than others), they are getting their exercise. We also tend to eat and drink more in the summer at the typical outdoor barbecue. We tend to drink more alcohol or more sugary drinks. Then you try to put on a pair of jeans that fit fine in May, only now you can’t button the button!
If your normal workout days went out the window as soon as the sunny days started. I understand. I live in New England. Our warm sunny days are definitely limited. It takes discipline to keep on your workout schedule when you are on vacation or wanting to be outside when the weather is good.
My advice is to keep to your normal workout scheduled days. Maybe you need to do your workout in the morning instead of the evening so you can enjoy some outdoor activities after work.
If you haven’t been working out, now is a great time to start. Start with going for a nice productive walk. Productive meaning, you move at a good pace so that you feel like you are getting a workout.
Once you start working out, it only takes 3 weeks to really feel the benefits. Not only will you have more energy, you will start to feel a difference in how your clothing fit.
Add in resistance training to get the most from your workouts. It’s best to work with a personal trainer to give you the best results and to insure you don’t get injured.
